GA DNR EVENT: Becoming an Outdoors Woman Tree Climbing
September 18, Panola Mountain: Register with DNR

Join GA DNR aloft for an introduction to rope-assisted Technical Tree Climbing (TTC). Challenge yourself to hoist up one of Charlie Elliott Wildlife Center’s oak trees and enjoy a new view! There are two climb sessions available. The first will be at 1pm and the second at 3pm. Participants must be at least 18 years old for this adventure. Loose, comfortable clothing that does not impede movement and closed-toe shoes are recommended. The cost is $15 per person. This is a Georgia DNR event. Register online with GA DNR. 

Archery Practice with Artemis GA
September 25, Cherokee County: Register
Want to learn how to shoot a bow?  Already have one and want to improve your skills?  Spend a fun-filled day learning with Artemis Instructor Angel Broussard and you will leave a better archer. The event will include 2 hours of instruction with Angel to include target practicing.  Lunch will be provided and give each participant the opportunity to meet and network.  After lunch, the group will test their skills on the 22 3-D targets on the Rich Mountain archery range. DNR Special Hunt: Register
October 2-3, Horse Creek, Jacksonville
This is a DNR Specialty Hunt opportunity available for youth, ladies, vets, etc. at Horse Creek WMA (between Fitzgerald and Lumber City in South Georgia). Seasoned Artemis hunters will be camping onsite and would love to share their knowledge with you. To attend and camp with Artemis gals, REGISTER HERE by Wednesday, September 29. Note: This GA DNR Specialty Hunt is only for Youth (16 years and younger), Ladies, Disability License holders, Returning Georgia Veterans, Honorary License holders, and hunters over the age of 65. GA DNR Specialty Hunts are sign-in unless otherwise noted. Registration is through Artemis GA is required only if you are wanting to connect with other Artemis Georgia hunters in attendance. Fireside Chat: Preparing Wild Game

GA DNR EVENT: Becoming an Outdoors Woman Archery Event
October 16, 10am – 2pm, Hard Labor Creek, Rutledge: LEARN MORE
Join an interpretive ranger for a morning of shooting arrows! This event is your chance to gain some archery skills. Soon,
you will be hitting the bullseye. All equipment will be provided. This program is geared to participants 18 years old and up. Space is limited to 10 participants. The cost is $10 per person and $5 parking. For more information and to register, please call GA DNR at 706-557-3001.

Artemis GA Deer Hunt
October 22-24, Columbus: APPLY
A retreat for the women of Artemis. All levels of experience welcomed-with new participants paired with more experienced ladies. We have secured onsite lodging for only 9 women to attend. Range practice Friday mid-day, hunting opportunities Friday evening, Saturday morning, and Saturday evening for doe or hogs. Bring your own equipment if you have it or inquire if you don’t. Private fishing ponds, a brewery within 20 minutes of the lodge, assistance cleaning our animals, and more. Prepare to be pampered. Expect 5-6 prepared meals including a wild game dinner. Very grateful to Georgia Wildlife Federation and the landowner’s donation! Reserve your spot for only $20. Email with questions or for guidance on preparations. APPLY TODAY. Georgia DNR Event: Becoming an Outdoors Woman (BOW) Workshop

Becoming an Outdoors Woman (BOW) workshop focuses on learning outdoor skills in a safe and structured environment. Class activities cover topics such as hunting, shooting, fishing, and more! BOW Workshops are learning opportunities primarily designed for women 18 years of age or older. Beginners are welcome and encouraged! A limited number of scholarships are available to assist individuals paying for registration. See the flyer for more information. Register online with DNR.

Artemis GA Archery Deer Hunt
November 12-13, Chickamauga: APPLY
An archery hunt on our Artemis Ambassador Melissa’s beautiful north Georgia farm. She and her family are opening their doors for a fantastic Friday evening and Saturday morning hunt.
