Rivers Alive Main

Rivers Alive

GWF has sponsored Rivers Alive events since 1993.  Each October, over 300 volunteers gather to clean up waterways in Newton and Gwinnett counties.  Tons of trash and debris have been removed through the years, including old tires, windows, toilets, and countless drink containers.

Newton County

GWF partners with Keep Covington/Newton Beautiful.  Volunteers meet in Covington for breakfast then break into groups and clean all morning. See the Calendar for upcoming event details.

Gwinnett County

Volunteers meet in the morning at GWF's property across from the Mall of Georgia.  Groups spend the morning cleaning the Mill Creek wetland and occasionally are treated to additional educational programming. See the Calendar for upcoming event details.
